Strategic Philanthropy and Cultural Investment

A recent gathering promoted by Banca Generali and Target Law at the Innovation Hub of Banca Generali offered an opportunity to explore the vision, value and mission of philanthropy through the lens of current shifts and emerging priorities.
The conversation examined the evolving landscape of strategic philanthropy and its relevance in shaping long term cultural and social impact. Key themes included generational wealth transfer, activism within philanthropic efforts, the emergence of a new generation of philanthropists, and the question of how to structure accountability within philanthropic frameworks. These perspectives consider philanthropy as a conscious investment in shared legacy and civic responsibility.
Dialogue across different cultural and economic contexts, particularly between Italy and the United States, highlighted the importance of collaborative approaches that connect private initiative with public benefit and support sustainable cultural value.
Thank you to Silvia Stabile and Target Law for facilitating the discussion and to fellow speakers Italo Carli and Marzio Albonico for their contributions.
